Members of Kempston Climate Change Group, along with friends and Kempston Town Councillors, undertook a litter pick in and around Addison Howard Park on Saturday 10th June.
The event, organised at part of KCCG’s contribution to Bedford Great Big Green Week, was a great success and collected many bags of rubbish. On the other hand, the fact that so much was collected was a concern, not least because much of this could have been placed in the park’s recycling bins in the first place.
A small number of those present then stayed on in the park for an informal picnic.
The event was also featured in Kempston Town Council’s column in Kempston Calling Magazine for July 2023. We are also grateful to colleagues at Kempston Town Council who facilitated access to the Borough litter picking equipment held at the council offices.
