This year, Kempston Climate Change Group are joining local town councillors on a litter pick, beginning outside Sainsburys on June 7th at 11.30am. All community members are welcome!
Great Big Green Week is the UK’s largest celebration of community climate action, as reported by theclimatecoalition.org. The event’s goals are to revitalise communities, revitalise nature and reduce the impacts of climate change.
Of course, these are things that needn’t be limited to one week in June! Recycling, maintaining green spaces, cutting back on animal products and travelling by foot or public transport are positive actions that can be taken any time of year.
However, Great Big Green Week offers local initiatives, including ourselves at Kemspton Climate Change Group, an opportunity to share what we do with the community, offering easy ways for others to join in. For a full lineup of events taking place, head over to the ‘Great Big Green Week Bedford’ page on facebook (here) or the Great Big Green Week website (here).
